The goal of this series is to gain an understanding of who Jesus is, what He has done and is doing, and what His character is. Many people know about Jesus, but don’t know Him. Many Christians think they know Him, but could really use more time in the Gospel to actually understand Him based on the accounts of His earthly life. This series is designed to be eye-opening for all people, from doubters to seekers to lifelong believers.
This 4-week series will explore what the church is, why it was created, and how it is supposed to carry out its mission. We will take a look at 4 distinct parts of the book of Acts and discover what the church is in its essence and how we can uphold, or return to, that essence.
Series Description: Beginning in the book of Exodus, God leads His people out of their slavery in Egypt so that they may arrive in the promised land. But the journey through the wilderness is a trying time. Israel's time in the wilderness was full of complaining, worrying, and rebellion. But even though the people are all over the place, God is in their midst. He is providing, he is correcting, and he is leading into the promised future. As the people of our community endure the ramifications of COVID-19, we are experiencing a moment of transition. We know life will be better and different eventually, but at the moment, it isn't. God's word to the Israelites speaks powerfully to us as well as he tells us to remain faithful, trusting, and looking to Him alone.
