Grace in the Public Sphere

Sermon Series:

As Christians, we have lots of room for growth with regard to how graciously we carry ourselves in the public sphere (e.g. on social media, such as Facebook; in conversations about politics, etc.). Conversations that have been “seasoned with salt”, as Paul says, should always leave a good taste in people’s mouths. Far too often our conversations are not as “full of grace” as they are full of sarcasm, insults, impatience, and ALL CAPS ANGER!!! Few things bring this ugly, ungracious side out of us as Christians as much as politics and perceived threats to our religious liberty. But the Apostle Paul (as well as Jesus and others) makes it very clear that we are to be gracious in how we respond to others “always” – with no exceptions.
